REBEL'S JUSTIN OF AEROLAKE
(Frerose's Nutmeg of Frerose x Frerose's Skootin Skeeter)
June 23, 1992 - March 19, 2006

Best Puppy in Show @ 7 months Best Boy at Home @ 13 years
Justin was my first Shiba and he taught me so much about the breed and opened a whole new world. He came into my life when a nearby Shiba breeder, who had obtained Justin for breeding purposes, discovered through x-rays that his hips were not acceptable and he would be placed in a loving pet home. His show career was stopped at seven points and a Best Puppy in Show win. Justin loved scouting around the stable property where I kept my horse at the time. Unlike 90% of Shibas, Justin was not a runner & he would always stay nearby.
When Justin was about 5 years old, his hips were causing him much discomfort and it was decided he would be a good candidate for excision of the head of the femur. This was done to one hip & he did well for a year or two when the pain returned and new x-rays showed bone chips in both hips. Nothing seemed to help & he groaned whenever he got up from a snooze.
About that time, I was trying to find the best diet for my (by now) three Shibas and moved from the "best kibble" I could find, to cooking stews to finally taking the plunge and switching to a raw diet. Since that time, some six years ago, Justin never groaned upon rising & could jump up from a dead sleep to chase "Miss T" the cat.
Justin would have been 14 years old in June of 2006 and, other than some deafness and too great an appetite, he was doing very well until he ingested something he shouldn't have (which was very uncharacteristic for him.) Justin will be sorely missed. Have fun at Rainbow Bridge, my friend and thank you for your love and companionship. I miss you.
CAN/AM CH AKANAMI MARCO POLO
(Can/Am Ch. Rodels Crimson and Clover x Can/Am Ch. Innisfree Kin No Takara)
DOB July 5, 1999

Sonny @ 5 weeks Sonny @ 18 months Sonny & Chloe
Sonny was born in July, 1999 out of Can/Am Rodel's Crimson and Clover ("Chloe") and was sired by Am Ch. Innisfree Matthew. Named after Sonny Bono for his cheery, easy-going, friendly attitude, Sonny had a very successful show career, highlighted by his being the #3 Shiba Inu in Canada in 2000. This was accomplished by being shown only in the Maritimes, where he was a multiple group winning Shiba and took a Best Puppy in Show award.
Sonny enjoys being a great ambassador for the breed. He is now happily being the only dog in a wonderful home in northern New Brunswick where he gets tons of exercise and plays with children - he's in his element.
Sonny has been fed a raw diet since he was 9 months old.
